Excellent fish n chips.
The fish was fresh and fried perfectly. Loved the batter as well.
The mushy peas and the dip in the side is a treat as well.
Totally recommended to give it a try!

I decided to take my mother, who was visiting me from Spain, out for a meal at this place because I had previously tried other Quilan’s establishments and loved the food. Unfortunately, at this particular location, I had a very bad experience due to a blonde waitress with her hair in a ponytail who made us feel unpleasant.

When we arrived and sat down, she asked us what we would like to drink. I politely asked what non-alcoholic beers they had available, and she simply told me to “read the menu.”

Later, when it was time to order food, we were still deciding because I wanted to try something different. I asked her what the difference was between the fish options on the menu, as customers are given a choice. Her response was, “the name,” and she again told me to read the menu. The waitress was unable to explain the dishes listed on their own menu.

A few minutes later, she went over to a kitchen colleague and, while laughing and looking in our direction, told him about what had happened. She seemed to assume that I couldn’t understand what she was saying in English. This made the experience very unpleasant and uncomfortable for us.

Although the food was good, we no longer felt comfortable staying, so we asked for it to be packed to take away.

A well-known brand like Quilan’s should pay closer attention to who they hire and to the level of customer service they provide.

Response from the owner

We sincerely apologise that you and your mother were made to feel uncomfortable. The level of service you described does not reflect the standards we aim to provide to our guests.

We take your comments regarding the interaction with our staff member very seriously and will be reviewing the matter internally with the team.
